The City of Winnipeg is already making changes to its brand new transit system. In June, Winnipeg launched its Primary Transit Network – the biggest change to the city’s transit system in its 142-year history. The network, which is aimed at improving efficiency and reliability, has received mixed reviews, with many users saying they now need to take more buses to get to their destination. Using this feedback, the city made some changes at the end of August to improve the new system. This includes relocated bus stops at six locations; additional articulated buses to reduce crowding on Route F8 (Pembina-Henderson Highway) and expanded on-request service for Zones 101, 102, 103, 106, 111 and 112. The city also adjusted schedules for the D12 Ellice, D13 Sargent and D16 Academy-Notre Dame. More schedule improvements will take effect when Transit switches to its winter schedule in December.
