You couldn’t be blamed for thinking the beautiful weather over the weekend couldn’t possibly continue this week, could it? Turns out it can. Sunshine and unseasonably warm daytime highs in the mid-teens will continue Monday in Winnipeg and across southern Manitoba. For perspective, the normal high for Winnipeg and Brandon heading into the later part of October is 9 C. Both cities are set to soar closer to 15 C this afternoon in south or southeast winds around 20 km/hr. The skies will also be bright over northwestern Ontario Monday, with slightly cooler highs closer to 13 C. Conditions are less uniform across northern Manitoba Monday. The northwest will be cloudy, while unseasonably warm temperatures will crack double digits this afternoon. The northeast will see more sun, with daytime highs as warm as 13 C in Island Lake and as cool as 5 C in Churchill. Ahead of Monday night, overnight lows are expected to remain above the freezing mark across Manitoba, with the exception of Churchill, which could slip just below it. Sunshine and soaring temperatures are expected to last through Thursday. By Friday, warm temperatures will stick around, but not the sunshine. Rain is expected.
