For a second day, the sun will shine over the south, while parts of the north will be soggy in Manitoba Tuesday. Despite strong and gusty northwest winds, temperatures will soar into the unseasonably warm low 20s across southern Manitoba, including Winnipeg and Brandon. Conditions will be similar across northwestern Ontario Tuesday. Meanwhile, a surface low will cross northern Manitoba Tuesday afternoon, which will bring more showers to the region, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC). The northernmost regions are most likely to see showers, although there is a lower chance they could also reach areas further south. The weather agency said thundershowers are also possible along the low’s cold front this afternoon and evening. The cold front will continue to bring showers to parts of the north tonight as it continues to cross the region. ECCC said showers will spread into central Manitoba overnight and Wednesday. Showers will miss the south Tuesday night. Expect a few clouds at most overnight, leading to sunshine and above-normal temperatures in the mid- to upper teens on Wednesday and Thursday.
