Pro wrestler Chris Jericho says he’s embracing his newfound status as a “scream king.” After a role in last year’s horror hit “Terrifier 3,” the AEW grappler stars as the main villain in “Dark Match.” The slasher by Saskatchewan’s Lowell Dean follows a group of amateur wrestlers who fall prey to the sinister plans of a deranged cult leader, played by Jericho. The Canadian wrestling star says he usually tries to avoid wrestling-related movies but made an exception for “Dark Match” because of its strong script. The 54-year-old says he’s looking to explore more acting roles but insists he’s not retiring from wrestling anytime soon as he can still perform at a high level. “Dark Match” hits Canadian theatres Friday.
