Manitoba public health officials say new measles exposure sites have been identified in southern Manitoba, including Ag Days in Brandon. According to a media release, anyone who attended Ag Days in Brandon or visited hotels, restaurants and shops in the city should monitor for symptoms until Feb. 13. Exposures may have occurred in the city before, during and after the event, beyond the locations listed. In addition to Ag Days, three locations in Winkler have also been identified as exposure sites. Anyone who was at the following locations during the specified times is asked to monitor for symptoms until the date listed: Manitoba Ag Days, Keystone Centre, Brandon Great Western Roadhouse, Canad Inns Destination Centre, 1125 18th St., Brandon Manitoba Ag Days, Agriculture in the Classroom event, Provincial Exhibition of Manitoba Dome Building, Unit 1-A, 1200 13th St., Brandon Stacked Pancake and Breakfast House, 777 Norquay Dr., Winkler Boundary Trails Health Centre public health office, near Winkler Boundary Trails Health Centre emergency department, near Winkler Measles symptoms can appear seven to 21 days after exposure. Symptoms include fever, runny nose and red eyes, with white spots possibly developing inside the mouth or throat. More information is available on the province’s website.
