Woman killed in crash with semi: Manitoba RCMP

A 78-year-old woman has died after the vehicle she was driving was struck by a semi-truck in Lac du Bonnet.

A woman from Pinawa has died following a highway collision in the Rural Municipality of Lac du Bonnet on Friday.

Lac du Bonnet RCMP said they responded to a collision at the intersection of Highway 11 and Minnewawa Street at noon.

A vehicle travelling west on Minnewawa Street had entered the intersection and was struck by a semi-truck travelling north on Highway 11, according to Mounties.

The driver of the vehicle, a 78-year-old woman from Pinawa, was pronounced dead at the scene. The semi-truck driver, a 41-year-old man from Fannystelle, was not physically injured.

Lac du Bonnet RCMP and an RCMP forensic collision reconstructionist continue to investigate.
