Wrong turn leads to firearm, marijuana seizure at Windsor–Detroit Tunnel

A wrong turn by a U.S. citizen led to the seizure of two firearms and marijuana products at the Windsor–Detroit Tunnel.

The U.S. Customs and Border Protection Detroit Field Office says the incident happened March 15 during outbound enforcement operations.

CBP says the firearms and drugs were seized and the individual was later released.

The agency is reminding travellers that proper documentation is required for firearms to cross the border and that marijuana remains illegal under U.S. federal law.
