The Windsor Regional Hospital has named a new Chief Nursing Executive (CNE) and Vice President of Critical Care, Cardiology, Diagnostic Imaging, Respiratory Therapy, Patient Relations, Corporate Education, Training and Professional Practice. Nicole Krywionek will assume the positions. Krywionek has more than two decades of experience in clinical care, education, and leadership. She has history working in various clinical and management positions in Canada and internationally in critical care and emergency nursing. She has been with WRH since 2018 as the Director of Critical Care, Cardiology, and Respiratory Services. She took on the role of Interim Vice President in 2024. In addition, she is an appointed member of the Inquiries, Complaints, and Reports Committee at the College of Nurses of Ontario. She is completing her Doctor of Nursing degree. Krywionek will take over for Karen Riddell in the CNE position, once she retires in March 2026. “Nursing is my life-long passion,” said Krywionek. “As a third-generation nurse, I’ve been immersed in this incredible profession from a very young age. I look forward to expanding on Karen’s amazing professionalism and nursing leadership as we continue to dedicate ourselves to the best nursing and professional practices throughout our organization for many years to come.” Riddell said Krywionek will be a good fit for the role. “Nicole is a dedicated individual, who is committed to advancing professional practice and fostering collaboration across all regulated health professionals to support quality, person-centered care,” said Riddell. “We are proud of her achievement at WRH over the past several years and are excited for her taking on this new position and responsibility.”
