Mounties in White Rock are asking the public for help as they investigate a home invasion that occurred last weekend. On Sunday, Nov. 1, the resident of a home in the 14500 block of Sunset Drive was “confronted by an unknown man” outside and forced back into the home, White Rock RCMP said in a news release Thursday. “The suspect remained in the residence for a period of time, stole property, and subsequently fled the area,” the release reads. “The victim was not physically injured during the incident.” Police said the suspect description in the case is “limited.” “He is described as a tall Caucasian man with an athletic build,” the release reads. Investigators are now looking for dash-cam, doorbell camera or security video captured in the vicinity of the incident between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. on the day it occurred. They asked anyone who saw anything suspicious during that period to contact them. “Home invasions are extremely concerning incidents that can have a significant impact on a person’s sense of safety and security,” said Staff Sgt. Rob Dixon, the detachment commander, in the release. “We are asking anyone who may have information, or who may have video footage from the area, to come forward and speak with investigators. We also encourage residents to report any suspicious persons or activity in their neighbourhoods, as information from the public can play a vital role in advancing investigations and enhancing community safety.” White Rock RCMP can be reached at 778-545-4800.
