Windsor Swifties head to the theatres, celebrating new album release

Taylor Swift fans flocked to theatres in Windsor on Friday, celebrating a new album release by the star.

Friday marked the release day for Taylor Swift’s 12th album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’, and Windsor Swifties were out in full force to celebrate.

Alongside the album release, a movie was put out, showcasing behind-the-scenes of the album.

Autumn and Mariella were among fans for the first showing of the day at Landmark Cinemas.

“I’m looking to lose my voice by tomorrow and have a lot of fun,” said Autumn.

The pair said they were planning on dancing and ‘screaming their hearts out’.

“This is the closest thing I get to a concert, and I really love Taylor Swift,” Mariella added.

Fans also came in full sequins and sparkles, just like Swift does on stage.

Allanah came in a sequin and feather pink dress, waking up at 2 a.m. to listen to the album.

“I woke up, actually, early. I work at 3 a.m., so I woke up at 2 a.m.,” she said.

She said she loves the album, with her favourite so far being ‘Honey’.

Penelope and Abigail dawned sparkles too. When asked why they chose the outfits they did, Penelope said because Taylor likes sequins.

“Because it reminds me of Taylor Swift,” Abigail added.

Sofie and Haley were another pair headed into see Swift on the big screen. When asked by CTV News what they love about Swift, this is what they had to say.

“She’s very kind to all her fans… and she has attitude,” Haley smiled.

“Her songs and her attitude,” said Sofie.

Sofie and Haley added they are enjoying ‘Cancelled’ most off the track list.
