This weekend, RBC Place London was transformed into a vibrant universe of superheroes, pop culture icons, and boundless imagination as London Comic Con returned in full force. Thousands of fans of all ages poured into the venue to celebrate what has become a beloved local tradition and one of the largest pop culture events in Southwestern Ontario. Whether you’re a diehard comic book collector, an anime enthusiast, a master cosplayer, or a casual gamer, London Comic Con offered something for everyone. “Comic Con is like a place where you can just step into a whole other world. You can be whatever you want to be, be wherever you want to be, and it all is acceptable no matter what your intent is,” said Andrew Kitt, lead organizer of London Comic Con. And step into another world they did. Cosplayers filled the halls with stunning outfits that ranged from hand-sewn anime ensembles to cinematic-grade superhero suits. Panels and workshops buzzed with activity, featuring special guests, artists, voice actors, and industry insiders. Attendees could meet their favorite creators, shop exclusive merchandise, or try out the latest in gaming tech. But beyond the costumes and collectibles, Comic Con was also a space for meaningful community connection. A standout presence this year was Extra Life’s London Guild, raising awareness and funds for the Children’s Health Foundation. “The children’s hospital touches so many of our lives, and we’ve had so many wonderful people come by our booth talking about what Children’s Hospital has done for them and their family and their loved ones. And they are gamers just like us here at London Comic Con,” shared AJ MacDonald, guild member of Extra Life London Branch. Many of the booths at this year’s event participated in charitable efforts, channeling fan energy toward real-world good. Whether it was through gaming marathons or merch sales, these initiatives raised crucial funds for children and families in need. London Comic Con is more than just a convention, it’s a celebration of creativity, inclusion, and shared passion. It’s a place where strangers become allies, heroes come to life, and fandom finds a home. Tickets are still available online or at the door. Comic Con returns Sunday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
