St. Clair College Enactus teams earn multiple wins at national entrepreneurship competition

A group of students from St. Clair College is heading to the national stage after turning in a strong performance at a regional entrepreneurship competition in Toronto.

The college’s Enactus teams earned two first‑place finishes and one second‑place finish at the 2026 Enactus Canada Central Regional Exposition, which brought together more than 2,000 students from 29 colleges and universities across central Canada.

St. Clair took top honours in the Desjardins Youth Empowerment Challenge and the Enactus Alumni Impact and Innovation Challenge. The team also placed second in the Environmental Sustainability Challenge.

Team president Evan Holmes said the results reflect the effort and determination students put in throughout the year.

“In a year that brought a lot of new challenges, we didn’t hold back,” Holmes said. “Everyone showed up for each other and gave it everything they had. It really showed what’s possible when a team is all in.”

Holmes said the experience has fuelled the team’s confidence as it prepares to represent St. Clair College at the Enactus Canada National Exposition.

Faculty advisor Michael Spadotto said what sets the team apart isn’t just creativity, but a focus on real‑world results.

“They don’t just identify problems — they take ownership of solutions,” Spadotto said, adding the students are committed to creating measurable impact in the community.

Students on the teams come from a wide range of programs, including marketing, business, engineering, nursing, early childhood education and social justice studies. Spadotto said that mix of backgrounds plays a key role in shaping innovative projects.

According to Enactus Canada, teams compete through live, presentation‑based rounds judged by business leaders, with top performers advancing to national competition.

St. Clair’s Enactus teams will now move on to face competitors from across the country later this year.
