Damage is estimated at $100,000 after a fire broke out in the basement of a Pelissier Street home on Saturday afternoon. According to social media posts from Windsor Fire and Rescue, crews responded to a two-storey home in the 2200-block of Pelissier Street for a report of a house fire on Saturday afternoon. Upon arrival, fire crews were greeted by thick smoke and began the primary search in the basement. EMS and Windsor police also attended the scene. Crews soon got the fire under control and began ventilation of the structure. Primary searches of the home were all clear. A fire investigator attended the scene, and it was soon determined the fire first started in the basemen as a result of an electrical failure. There were no reported injuries, but two people have been displaced. Damage is estimated at $100,000.
