OMVIC warns not to buy from this Windsor car dealer

The Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council is warning against buying vehicles from Naserati Auto in Windsor.

The Ontario Motor Vehicle Industry Council (OMVIC) is warning Windsor-Essex not to buy from Naserati Auto on Drouillard Road in Windsor.

OMVIC said Naserati Auto and its owner are not registered to sell cars in Ontario. Registering to sell vehicles is a legal requirement in the province.

The owner is facing six charges under the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act and the Consumer Protection Act.

Seven more incidents are under investigation, related to odometer rollbacks and illegal vehicle sales.

OMVIC thinks many more car buyers could have been affected and is calling anyone who is to come forward.

Consumers who buy from unregistered sellers can risk losing thousands of dollars and have no protection or recourse under Ontario legislation.
