Thrill seekers will soon have a new attraction to check out on Grouse Mountain as it prepares to officially open a highly anticipated gravity coaster next week. In a news release Friday, the North Vancouver resort said the Grouse Gravity Coaster will welcome riders on Wednesday, offering “high-speed thrills and world-class views.” Michael Cameron, president of Grouse Mountain Resort, noted that 2026 is a milestone year for Grouse Mountain, as it marks its 100th anniversary. “This exciting addition reflects our continued momentum as we celebrate 100 years and look ahead to the future of the resort,” Cameron said in the release. “Whether seeking adrenaline or a scenic ride, guests have the freedom to control their speed and make the experience their own.” Located to the skier’s left of The Cut, the coaster will take riders through a series of twists and turns amongst the trees before opening up to panoramic views of Vancouver. Resort officials said the closed-loop track is designed to deliver an immersive ride from start to finish, with carts capable of reaching speeds of up to 45 kilometres an hour. Riders can choose to go solo or share a cart with a passenger, while built-in safety technology automatically slows carts if they get too close to one another. The resort said those with annual memberships to the mountain will receive one complimentary ride on the Grouse Gravity Coaster. For non-passholders, the new attraction can be added onto their ticket, with discounted rates available for multiple rides and passengers.
