More than $400,000 raised at Show Us Your Brave campaign

Over $400,000 was raised at this year’s Show Us Your Brave campaign, supporting cancer care in Windsor.

More than 2,000 donations were received by the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation as brave locals rappelled down the CIBC building, 170 feet, in downtown Windsor on May 23.

“Cancer touches many families in our community, and every year we continue to be inspired by the incredible generosity and courage of those who rally behind this campaign,” said Houida Kassem, executive director of the Windsor Cancer Centre Foundation.

“The funds raised through Show Us Your Brave will have a direct impact on local patients by supporting equipment, programs, research, and care here in our community. We are deeply grateful to everyone who chose to show us their brave.”

Nina Mastrogiacomo, an employee of the Windsor Regional Cancer Centre partook in the action this year.

“Standing on the edge of the building was intimidating, but it reminded me that cancer patients face challenges far greater than a rappel every single day,” she said.

“Taking part in Show Us Your Brave and Brave Day gave me the opportunity to honour the courage of our cancer patients and fundraise for those in our community affected by cancer.”

All money raised will stay in Windsor-Essex to support those in the community going through cancer treatment. To date, Show Us Your Brave has raised more than $1.2 million.
