Local podcast highlights Windsor’s Second World War veterans

The Windsor Public Library has put together a podcast, highlighting stories of Second World War veterans in the Windsor region.

‘Those Who Served: Stories from Windsor’s WWII Veterans’ is part of the ‘Stories of Windsor’ podcast. It takes stories from an original collection of histories from the Local History Branch.

This year is the 80th anniversary since the end of the Second World War. 1.159 million Canadians served in the war.

This hour-long podcast has a collection of voices that were recorded in 1999, when 51 Second World War veterans from Windsor-Essex were interviewed. It will honour everyone who served, including air force pilots, infantrymen, privates, nurses and doctors, members of the women’s corps and more.
