Interested in recreational development of the Essex Centre Sports Fields? The town wants to hear from you

The Town of Essex has put out a call, asking anyone interested in the recreational development of the Essex Centre Sports Fields to reach out with a Request for Expressions of Interest (REI).

The REI is looking for proposals from qualified private sector parties, who are able to help the town with its long-term vision for the Essex Centre Sports Fields. It said this is looking at the potential development of up to 10 acres of vacant municipal lands for recreational purposes, such as indoor sports and recreational facilities.

“The REI is an important step in shaping the future of recreation in our community,” said Mayor Sherry Bondy.

“We are looking to engage with innovative partners who share our vision for creating high-quality recreational opportunities that serve residents of all ages, support healthy lifestyles, and enhance the long-term vibrancy of Essex.”

Essex Centre Sports Fields are on around 70 acres of land at the corner of Highway 3 and North Malden Road. The land can accommodate a range of recreational activities and buildings.
