The City of Windsor is asking residents, business owners, service providers and visitors to weigh in on the progress of its Strengthen the Core downtown revitalization plan. A survey is open until Sept. 7 to measure perceptions of downtown and help guide future investments and priorities. The city says several initiatives have been launched since the strategy began, including Project Greenlight security cameras, enhanced outreach programs, decorative lighting, additional parking spaces, new housing developments and marketing campaigns aimed at attracting investment and visitors. Mayor Drew Dilkens says the city has made significant progress in improving safety, increasing housing opportunities and bringing new events and amenities to the downtown core. “Our efforts to breathe new life into the core extend far beyond identifying a vision for supporting vulnerable populations. We are working to address perceptions of safety through Project Greenlight and other impactful community safety measures. Dozens of unforgettable events and initiatives continue to regularly draw thousands of residents and visitors into the core,” Dilkens said. Survey results will be compiled and shared with city council. Residents can participate through the City’s Let’s Talk Windsor website.
