Charges have been laid in connection with the death of an Edmonton mother earlier this year. The body of Teresa Katcheech, 39, was found in a house in the area of 93 Street and 105 Avenue after a fire on Feb. 9. An autopsy found that she died of gunshot wounds and blunt force trauma, with the manner of death listed as homicide. On Sunday, the Edmonton Police Service arrested Cory Wiltzen, 48, in connection with Katcheech’s death. He has been charged with second-degree murder, indignity to human remains and arson. Police say the two knew one another but were not believed to be in a relationship. Investigators are not searching for any additional suspects.
