CKHA has cut management positions across the organization, citing financial pressures.

The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA) has cut management positions, citing financial pressures.

Eight management positions have been cut across the organization.

Affected roles are:

• Vice president of transformation
• Vice president of mental health and addictions (position vacant when it was cut)
• Director of professional practice and organizational development
• Manager role in support services
• Manager role in clinical operations
• Supervisor role in community operations
• Supervisor of medical device reprocessing department
• Spiritual care provider

CKHA said because the needs of the community for accessible care and treatment for mental health conditions and addictions are higher than provincial averages, vice president of mental health and addictions is fully integrated with the existing role of vice president of clinical programs and operations.

“These changes in management roles are consistent with the goals of our Strategic Plan and will help ensure that CKHA remains sustainable and focused on patient care,” said Adam Topp, president and CEO of CKHA.

CKHA ensured that while the spiritual care provider position was cut, patients and families will still get compassionate and holistic care. It said spiritual care services are an essential part of CKHA’s approach.
