The City of Windsor is letting the public know about more Banwell Road lane reductions as part pf the Banwell Road/E.C. Row Interchange and Corridor Improvements project.

Where:

• Banwell Road between the roundabout at Mulberry Drive/Wildwood Drive and the E.C. Row Expressway.
• One lane of traffic will remain open at all times in each direction.

When:

• 7 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, to 6 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2026 (weather permitting).

The interchange project is one of Windsor’s largest infrastructure projects, costing about $120.5 million.

City officials say the complexity of the project will result in continued impacts to traffic flow in the area, with the city and contractor working to mitigate inconveniences and impacts for drivers throughout the project’s lifespan. Impacts, including lane reductions, will continue to be reported in advance to help residents plan for commutes and anticipate delays.

Banwell Road’s arterial route connects established Windsor neighbourhoods with emerging communities, linking schools, parks, industries, and local businesses. The full Banwell Road corridor currently accommodates approximately 10,000 to 17,000 vehicles per day.
