A man caught on camera pushing a refrigerator out of a Duncan Home Depot is now the focus of an RCMP investigation after police say he was involved in two separate thefts at the store. North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect, who investigators say first stole a Frigidaire stainless steel French door refrigerator from the Home Depot on Drinkwater Road on July 15. Police say the same man returned to the store two days later and stole a Samsung range and Ryobi tools. RCMP have released images of the suspect and a vehicle believed to be connected to the thefts in hopes someone can identify him. Police describe the suspect as a Caucasian man between 55 and 70 years old with a large build. At the time of the July 15 incident, he was wearing a green T-shirt, green pants, black boots, a tan-and-black baseball hat with writing on the front, and glasses. Investigators say the vehicle associated with the thefts is a grey four-door SUV, possibly a Range Rover-style vehicle. Anyone with information about the suspect or vehicle is asked to contact the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP at 250-748-5522.
