Man found dead ‘under suspicious circumstances’ on Vancouver Island

Vancouver Island’s Major Crime Unit is investigating after a man was found dead “under suspicious circumstances” in a mobile home last weekend.

Police say they were called to a mobile home park in the 7000 block of West Coast Road in Sooke around 3:20 a.m. Saturday after the body was found.

“As officers gathered initial evidence at the scene, they were able to obtain information about a suspect vehicle believed to be associated with the incident,” Mounties wrote in a statement Monday.

Police with the West Shore detachment found the vehicle about an hour later and arrested two people, according to the statement. Mounties did not provide further information about the individuals’ alleged involvement in the suspicious death.

Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit investigators asked anyone with dash-cam video to contact police, specifically of a red Mini Cooper travelling between Sooke and West Shore Parkway in Langford from midnight to 4 a.m. on April 11.
