Homicide investigators have been called to Surrey after an overnight shooting that left one man dead. The incident occurred around 11:40 p.m. Friday, the Surrey Police Service said in a news release Saturday morning. At that time, front-line officers from the RCMP’s Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit were called to the 10400 block of 152 Street, near 105 Avenue, and located a man suffering from life-threatening injuries, the SPS said. B.C. Emergency Health Services said it dispatched two units to the scene, but no patients were transported. Despite efforts to save his life, the man died at the scene, according to police. Images from the scene show police tape across 105 Avenue and a tent bearing the logo of the Lower Mainland’s Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, which has taken over the file. There’s also a black Ford pickup truck parked on the side of the road and partially covered with a yellow tarp. The SPS said this is Surrey’s sixth homicide of 2025. “While the motive is still under investigation, the incident does not appear to be random in nature or related to the ongoing series of extortions in Surrey,” the SPS release reads. The service directed further questions about the shooting to IHIT, and encouraged anyone with dash cam video or other information related to the incident to call the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-4448.
