A Surrey man is still taking in a life-changing windfall after he won the Gold Ball Jackpot on a Lotto 6/49 ticket last month. The B.C. Lottery Corporation says Amritpal S. went to White Rock after a busy day at work to clear his head. That’s when he saw that someone in Surrey had won the lottery, and he decided to check his ticket. Amritpal checked on his phone, and learned he had won a whopping $32 million from the Sept. 19 draw. “I saw the amount and was confused. I read $32,000 and used other phones to check. I couldn’t process it,” he told the BCLC, according to a news release. “My sister was the first person I told. She was speechless and started crying.” The BCLC says Amritpal is still mulling what he will do with the massive prize, he said he wants to help his parents and sister and by a house and some cars. “I know I can buy anything I want, but I’m still taking some time to decide. My dream car is a Dodge Challenger though,” he said. “I’m so happy! This will change my life.” The ticket was bought at 7-Eleven on 152 Street and 104 Avenue, according to the BCLC. The Gold Ball is a guaranteed prize drawn in each Lotto 6/49 game. If a white ball is drawn the prize is $1 million, and the jackpot prize grows until a golden ball is drawn. The odds of winning a Gold Ball draw depend on how may tickets were purchased.
