Mounties say a truck stolen from a home in Abbotsford was found in a remote area in the Fraser Valley. According to Mission RCMP, someone exploring the backcountry near Davis Lake reported seeing a pickup truck in the middle of Weatherhead Creek on Aug. 3. Officers on ATVs were deployed and found a grey 2019 Dodge Ram 1500 “submerged up to the bottom of its doors in the creek,” police say. Mission RCMP say the truck’s owner was contacted, and he said he left it parked outside of his home in Abbotsford and that it “must have been stolen while he was out of town.” The journey from Abbotsford included approximately 190 kilometres of driving, according to Google Maps, and that doesn’t include the off-road driving required to get the truck into Weatherhead Creek. “The truck appeared to have been in the creek for some time, as the interior was already covered in mildew,” Mission RCMP added. Police say the truck has since been recovered from the creek and have asked anyone who witnessed anything suspicious to call Mission RCMP at 604-826-7161 and quote file 2026-10190.
