Rockslide closes stretch of Highway 7 between Hope and Kent

A rockslide has shut down Highway 7 in both directions between the communities of Hope and Kent, snarling Wednesday afternoon traffic.

Crews closed an approximately 28-kilometre stretch of the highway as they assess the situation, according to DriveBC, which warned drivers to find an alternative route.

The affected area is between the Highway 9 junction and Ross Road, officials said.
