Chilliwack RCMP are asking for the public’s help identifying a person of interest in an armed robbery involving a youth earlier this summer. Mounties said they received a report of a young person who was confronted by a man with a firearm in the 46000 block of Yale Road just before 12:30 a.m. on July 20. “The suspect allegedly pointed what appeared to be a firearm at the youth and demanded property before fleeing the area on a bike,” RCMP said in a statement Wednesday. Investigators are now hoping someone will recognize the person of interest, described as a white man in his 20s, approximately 5′11″ tall, with a raspy-sounding voice. He was wearing glasses, black jeans, a black hoodie with a green logo and green lining inside the hood, and a black bandana with a white pattern. Mounties said he was also riding a white BMX-style bike with purple rims. Anyone who recognizes him is asked to call Chilliwack RCMP and reference file number 2026-31120.
