One person is dead after a single-vehicle crash in Abbotsford Tuesday evening, according to police. The Abbotsford Police Department says officers were called to the 32900 block of Townshipline Road around 7 p.m., after a car went off the road and struck a hydro pole. “Two occupants were extricated from the vehicle by first responders,” the department wrote in a news release. “Despite extensive life-saving efforts by first responders, the passenger succumbed to their injuries at the scene.” The driver was hospitalized with injuries police believe are not life-threatening. The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service was called in to investigate and Townshipline Road was closed between Gladwin Road and Riverside Street for several hours as a result. The department asked anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash-camera video to call 604-859-5225.
