Nardwuar the Human Serviette has announced the release of his very own shoe in collaboration with Nike—joining the likes of Michael Jordan and Lebron James. The design of the Nike SB skate shoe is an obvious homage to the eccentric and beloved interviewer’s tartan tam O’Shanter hat—complete with pom-pom. The heel and sole of each sneaker are emblazoned with his signature call-and response sign-off: “Doot doola doot doo” on the left and “doot doo” on the other. Nardwuar, whose real name is John Ruskin, shared the news of the collaboration on his social media pages Monday. “No Joke ! Truly a #lifegoal. Totally blown away!” he wrote. “Thanks everyone for all the support over the years! Your kind words and feedback have inspired me to keep going!” The shoe will officially launch Dec. 6, and a multi-city tour of skate shops starting next week will see Nardwuar visit Los Angeles, Toronto, London, and New York. The final stop is slated for his hometown of Vancouver on Dec. 7. Details on exactly how and where to get a pair have not yet been announced. “Just Doot It!” Monday’s announcement ended, riffing on Nike’s famous catch phrase. The unlikely icon’s career started with a show on UBC’s campus radio station before he landed at Much Music in the 90s. He has interviewed everyone from world leaders to pop idols and his YouTube channel has just shy of 3.8 million subscribers.
