A pair of Monday afternoon sailings between Metro Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast were cancelled due to required hull repairs on a vessel, according to BC Ferries. The 12:15 p.m. sailing departing Langdale and the 1:20 p.m. departing Horseshoe Bay were called off while the Queen of Coquitlam was out of service. “While every effort is being made to complete the repairs as quickly as possible, the Queen of Surrey will continue to provide service as scheduled,” BC Ferries wrote in a notice. In an update just before 1:30 p.m., the company announced hull repairs were complete and Transport Canada approved the vessel for operation. Previous sailings that were at risk of cancellation—the 2:35 p.m. and 4:50 p.m. leaving Langdale and the 3:40 p.m. and 6:05 p.m. leaving Horseshoe Bay—are now going ahead as planned. “We know you have important places to be and apologize for the inconvenience these earlier cancellations may have caused,” BC Ferries wrote in its updated notice. “Your patience is appreciated while the required repairs were completed.”
