A West Vancouver man is facing several charges in connection with a string of break-ins in North Vancouver’s Norgate neighbourhood, according to Mounties. In a news release Tuesday, North Vancouver RCMP said the investigation began on April 23 after they received multiple reports of break-ins to homes and thefts from vehicles. A number of people also reported that their credit cards had been used after the break-ins. Following investigative efforts and the execution of a search warrant, police arrested 35-year-old Louie Muehlfarth. He was released on April 25 pending a future court appearance. On July 13, Mounties said, the B.C. Prosecution Service formally charged Muehlfarth with three counts of break and enter, two counts of theft under $5,000, two counts of unauthorized use of a credit card and one count of possession of property obtained by crime. “These charges are the result of a thorough investigation by our front-line officers and investigators, who worked diligently to identify the suspect and gather evidence,” Cpl. Mansoor Sahak said in the release. “Property crimes have a significant impact on victims, and we encourage residents to continue reporting suspicious activity to police.” Muehlfarth is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday and currently has a warrant out for his arrest on an unrelated matter, RCMP said.
