A woman from Ontario who went missing at the Shambhala music festival in B.C. has been found safe, police confirmed Friday morning. The 28-year-old paramedic was reported missing on Tuesday after she was last seen in the early hours of the morning at the festival in the West Kootenays on July 27. Search and rescue volunteers in the village of Salmo mobilized to look for the woman, and her family travelled from Ontario to help. In a statement, the woman’s family thanked those who donated money to cover their travel costs, saying the support made a difference in the search effort. They said all funds not used for travel will be donated to Salmo’s search and rescue team. “She is receiving medical care and, most importantly, the family asks for privacy as we process this intense and miraculous development,” the statement reads. “A special thank you to the Salmo RCMP and Shambhala Festival for relentless focus on bringing (her) home. All organizations gave us full access and support of their resources to find her. We also to thank the general public for their prayer and support and believing (she) could be found.” CTV News has removed identifying information about the woman from this story to respect her privacy.
