Britannia Pool in East Vancouver reopened Wednesday morning after an “unexpected closure” over the weekend. The pool was closed Saturday after an issue with the tiles in the pool basin rendered it unsafe for swimming. “A big thank you to our facilities and pool staff who worked hard behind the scenes to complete the necessary repairs and get the pool ready to safely welcome our community back,” Britannia Community Services Centre posted online. “And thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding during the unexpected closure.” The pool will be closing again in November for a month-long period of annual maintenance with a longer closure set to begin in January of next year for more significant repairs.
