Mounties said a 9-year-old was hit by a car while walking amongst a group in Prince George last week. Prince George RCMP said the collision happened on Aug. 12 at around 4:30 p.m., while the group was walking along the shoulder of Sinclair Road, near Sinclair Park. According to police, a woman was driving by slowly in a white Ford Escape when she collided with the child and drove away. Cpl. Jennifer Cooper said the child wasn’t seriously harmed but is appealing to the public for help finding the driver involved. “The victim has stated there may have been another driver in the area that caught the incident on their cellphone, and we are hopeful that person will come forward with their video footage for our investigators,” she stated, in a release. Police describe the driver as a white woman believed to be in her 60s, with long grey hair and a thin to medium build, adding that her Ford Escape “may have a 1.5” diagonal scratch on the front right passenger side of the vehicle.” Anyone who saw or knows anything about the collision has been asked to call the Prince George RCMP at 250-561-3300, and quote file number 2026-27914.
