A Prince George, B.C., man has been convicted in an intimate partner violence case after pleading guilty to multiple assault charges, according to the RCMP. In a news release Tuesday, Prince George RCMP said 47-year-old Ryan Timothy Chiappe pleaded guilty in April to two counts of assault causing bodily harm and one count of assault. Mounties said the investigation began in the fall of 2024 after a victim reported allegations of intimate partner violence involving Chiappe. “Intimate partner abuse can take many forms and can have devastating impacts on victims. We want to remind the public that there is help available and there are many avenues to report intimate partner violence,” Cpl. Jennifer Cooper said in the release. “While highlighting the courage it takes to report domestic abuse, this case had a positive outcome with respect to holding the offender accountable.” Chiappe was handed a 15-month conditional sentence order, three years of probation and a DNA order.
