A Richmond, B.C., man is still reeling after learning he won a $500,000 lottery prize last month, according to the B.C. Lottery Corporation. Pulvinder S. won the maximum Extra prize in the June 30 Lotto Max draw and he initially couldn’t believe what he was seeing. “I was at home,” Pulvinder told the BCLC. “After scanning the (BCLC Lotto!) app, I thought, ‘Am I reading this ticket right?’” He first shared the happy news with his wife and daughter who were “counting the decimal places,” he added. Pulvinder is still planning what to do with his winnings but says he will use some of it on travel and renovations to his home. “This whole thing is crazy,” he said. The lucky ticket was purchased at the Shoppers Drug Mart on Williams Road near No. 3 Road in Richmond. The BCLC said so far this year, lottery players in B.C. have redeemed more than $28 million in winnings from the Extra prize and more than $118 million from Lotto Max. According to the BCLC, the odds of matching four out of four Extra numbers is approximately one in 3.76 million.
