Police in Abbotsford are investigating whether a drive-by shooting and vehicle fire Saturday night are connected. The shooting was reported around 11 p.m. on the 2500 block of McCallum Road, the Abbotsford Police Department said in a statement. “Preliminary information indicates that individuals in a dark-coloured SUV fired multiple shots at the victim vehicle,” the statement said. “Fortunately, no one was injured in this incident.” Soon after the shooting, officers were called to the 2400 block of Sunnyside Place and found an SV “full engulfed in flames,” the statement from the department said, adding that the shooting appears to have been “targeted.” The Major Crime Unit is investigating and asking anyone who has information or dash-cam video to call 604-859-5225 and quote file number 2026-38035.
