69-year-old pedestrian dead after crash in Tsawwassen parking lot

A 69-year-old woman is dead after a driver collided with her in a parking lot in Tsawwassen Friday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 2:30 p.m. near 10th Avenue and 54A Street, the Delta Police Department said in a news release.

“The collision occurred as a vehicle was entering a parking lot in the area,” the release reads.

Despite efforts to save her life, the woman succumbed to injuries she sustained in the crash, police said.

The driver who hit her remained at the scene and has been co-operating with investigators, according to the DPD, who said impairment was not a factor in the crash.

Roads in the area were closed while police investigated.
