TORONTO — The reigning American League champion Toronto Blue Jays will continue their push for the post-season tonight against the visiting Baltimore Orioles. Toronto has won nine of its last 14 games to get back in the American League playoff race. The Blue Jays enter play one game behind the Cleveland Guardians, who hold the third and final wild-card berth. The Guardians will visit the Minnesota Twins this evening. Veteran right-hander Max Scherzer is the probable starter for Toronto in the series opener. The Orioles are expected to counter with former Blue Jays right-hander Chris Bassitt. Toronto has 15 games remaining in the regular season. The Blue Jays hold the tiebreaker over the Guardians by virtue of winning the season series should the teams finish with identical records.
