Police have identified a man who died following an altercation over the weekend outside a pool hall in downtown Hamilton. He is 21-year-old Zenin Roussel, of Hamilton, and is the city’s latest homicide victim. Investigators say on Aug. 9 Roussel and an unknown number of suspects were at King Street Billiards and Sports Bar at 840 King Street West near Paradise Road South. They said a fight broke out on King Street after the establishment closed. Hamilton police say they were called around 2:30 a.m. after the victim was located with stab wounds by a taxi driver on Main Street West, near Frid Street. He was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries, they said. Police say Roussel’s family has been notified and they are asking for privacy “as they grieve this tragic loss.” “Hamilton Police extend our sincere condolences to the family, friends and all those affected,” they wrote in a news release. The Homicide Unit continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding Roussel’s death and is asking anyone who witnessed this incident or anyone with information that could help with the investigation to contact Det.
