Police are investigating a shooting after a man appeared at a Hamilton, Ont., hospital with a gunshot wound he allegedly gave himself over the weekend. Hamilton Police said he arrived at the local hospital at around 3 a.m. on Sunday. They add that his injury is considered non-life-threatening. Following an investigation, police said the man had been at Venu Bar beforehand, which is located at 627 King St. E., nearby Wentworth Street. Detectives said the victim was the same person allegedly responsible for the shooting. “He is believed to have shot himself,” police said in Monday’s news release. Police arrested and charged the man with firearm-related offences. Hamilton police did not identify the individual, or provide details of the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Police are asking witnesses or anyone with additional information to contact them or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
