A woman has been seriously injured in an incident in North York on Saturday. It happened on Thwaite Avenue, which is north of Sheppard Avenue and east of Jane Street. Toronto police said they were called to that area at 5:10 p.m. for reports of unknown trouble inside a residence. There, officers found an adult female with serious injuries. She was taken to the hospital via emergency run by paramedics. An adult male suspect has been arrested and an edged weapon has been recovered, police said. Investigators say there are no outstanding suspects. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with further information is asked to contact Toronto police or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
