Toronto man arrested after 8-year-old girl was sexually assaulted

Iman Behdar, 32, of Toronto was arrested and charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.

A Toronto man has been arrested after an eight-year-old girl was sexually assaulted inside a retail store in Scarborough last month, police say.

Police say they were called to the area of Finch Avenue East and McCowan Road on May 12 following reports of a sexual assault.

Investigators allege a male approached a girl inside a store, sexually assaulted her, and followed her through the store.

Police say the suspect then grabbed the child, who alerted family members.

When confronted by a family member, he fled the area, they said.

Iman Behdar, 32, of Toronto, has been charged with sexual assault and sexual interference. He was scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
