Fake Facebook account used to lure child porn victims: police

A man in his 20s is facing 11 charges following a child-luring investigation in Toronto.

Police said that a man used social media to obtain explicit photos and videos of two teenage girls.

The victims were between 13 and 14 years old, Toronto Police Det. Const. Michele Bond said at a news conference on Monday.

In both cases, a man approached the victims on social media, Bond said. He started relationships with the girls and offered them money for photos and videos.

Bond said he also threatened to expose their photos on social media if the girls didn't send more.

The man used a Facebook account under the name Brandon G. Davidson when communicating with the girls, Bond said.

As a result of the investigation into the account, police have arrested 24-year-old Brandon Walker of Richmond Hill.

Walker has been charged with two counts of luring a child under the age of 16 and three counts of counselling to commit the offence of making child pornography. He has also been charged with two counts of making child pornography, two counts of possession of child pornography and two counts of extortion.

Since Walker's arrest, Bond said that members of the public have continued to contact police with more information.

"Based on the public's assistance, we believe that there are additional victims out there and we encourage them to come forward," Bond said.
