Driver flees after crashing vehicle into pole on Bathurst Street

Police are searching for a driver who fled the scene after a vehicle crashed into a pole early Sunday morning.

Toronto police say the collision happened at around 6:04 a.m. in the area of Bathurst Street and Avenal Drive.

Officers arrived to find a vehicle that had struck a pole.

Police say the driver left the area on foot and remains outstanding.

Injuries, if any, are currently unknown at this time.

As a result, Bathurst Street was temporarily closed in both directions between Avenal Drive and Avenue Road. However, shortly before 9 a.m., officials said all roads have reopened.
