Another member of the Greig family will be playing professional hockey in Ottawa this year as the Ottawa Charge signed forward Dara Greig to a two-year contract. Greig, who spent two seasons with the Montreal Victoire, is the sibling of Ottawa Senator Ridly Greig. Last season, the Camden, N.J. native scored three goals and added two assists in 29 games. Greig was also a part of the Montreal team that defeated the Ottawa Charge in the Walter Cup finals. She was selected in the fourth round of the 2024 PWHL draft. Greig played five seasons of college hockey, the first two of which were spent at the University of Wisconsin and the final three at Colgate University. In 2021, Greig won a National Championship at Wisconsin. More moves for the Charge It’s been a busy offseason for the Ottawa Charge, who lost multiple players to the PWHL expansion, added a crop of fresh faces in Wednesday’s draft and executed a handful of transactions in the past few days. On Saturday, the Charge announced they had traded 2026 fifth-round pick Neena Brick to the Seattle Forward in exchange for forward Jenna Buglioni. The trade follows a number of re-signings announced by the Charge this past week. On Thursday, the Charge revealed that forward Kateřina Mrázová agreed to a two-year contract with the club. They also inked one-year deals with defenders Jocelyne Larocque and Kathryn Reilly, and goaltender Kendra Woodland. On Friday, the Ottawa team reached deals with defender Brooke Hobson and forward Brooke McQuigge, who signed two-year and one-year deals respectively. The Ottawa Charge lost some key players in the PWHL expansion process, including captain Brianne Jenner, assistant captain Emily Clark and forward Peyton Hemp to PWHL Hamilton, and 2025 first-round pick Rory Guilday to PWHL San Jose.
