Ontario Premier Doug Ford is making an announcement in Vaughan Wednesday morning following a war of words with U.S. President Donald Trump earlier this week. The premier and president hurled insults at each other after the latest round of trade negotiations between the U.S. and Canada fell apart over the weekend. At one point, Ford told Trump to “kiss my ass” over the breakdown during the ongoing trade war. The president returned fire by calling the premier a “less charismatic, intelligent, and overall unimpressive brother” of the late Rob Ford. Ford scaled back the rhetoric during appearances on U.S. media Tuesday, saying that while he does not regret his comments, he admits the back-and-forth did get “a little heated.” Although the details of Ford’s 10:30 a.m. announcement have not been released, he is being joined by Minister of Municipal Affairs Rob Flack, federal Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Housing and Infrastructure Jennifer McKelvie, federal Minister of International Trade Maninder Sidhu, and Vaughan Mayor Steven Del Duca.
