Investigation is ongoing into the death of a three-year-old boy in Prince Albert. The Prince Albert Police Service says officers were called to the 900 block of 2nd Street East around 7 p.m. on Tuesday for a three-year-old boy who was reported to be unconscious and non-breathing. A neighbour told CTV News that she saw police respond to the Village Green housing complex the evening of the incident after she was alerted to police presence by the sound of sirens. The neighbour says she saw a small child who appeared to be unconscious being carried from the unit to a waiting ambulance. Police confirmed there were no other calls to the 900 block of 2nd Street East the evening of the incident. Police say the toddler was transported to Victoria Hospital where he later died. The Prince Albert Police Service Major Crimes Unit and Forensic Identification Section are investigating the death along with the Saskatchewan Coroners Service. An autopsy was completed Wednesday. Police say updates will be provided as the investigation continues.
